Enrolling with Cascade K-8

How to Enroll with Shoreline’s Cascade K-8 School located at the Aldercrest Campus

Cascade K-8 Community School is a choice school for all Shoreline and Lake Forest Park families.  Enrollment is open to all K-8 students in the Shoreline School District. We are also open to 6th-8th grade students who live outside of the Shoreline School District boundaries.

If you’re new to Cascade K-8 and interested in enrolling your kindergartener - 8th grader in our school you will first need to attend a tour of the school. Find a tour date.

Monday, November 13, 10am at Cascade (for Journey students)
Tuesday, December, 12, 10am at Cascade (for K-5)
Wednesday, January 23, 7pm, on ZOOM, (all grades)
Monday, February 5, 10am, at Cascade (Kindergarten only)
Tuesday, February 13, 10am, at Cascade (Kindergarten only)
Wednesday, February 28, 2:30pm, at Cascade (all grades)
Wednesday, February 28, 7pm, on ZOOM (all grades)
Tuesday, April 9, 10am, at Cascade (all grades)
Tuesday, June 4, 10:30am, at Cascade (all grades)

 

There is no registration required to attend an in-person tour. For specific questions about enrollment or to register for a ZOOM tour, please email the parent tour coordinator at  info@cascadek8ptsa.org.

When you attend a school tour, you'll receive an application for enrollment at Cascade K-8. Attendance at a tour session is required prior to submitting an application.

If you require an interpreter, please contact our office manager via phone or email at least three school days prior to the tour you plan to attend.

 

Enrollment Timeline

Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year Lottery Enrollment steps 

Step 1: Attend onsite or in person tour (dates above). If the above times do not work please reach out to our parent tour coordinator at kelleanne@gmail.com 

Step 2: Enroll Student at your neighborhood school- Starts in February 

Enrollment of a student is completed via the online school district portal. Please follow district instructions and timeline to register with your neighborhood school.


Step 3: Turn in completed Cascade K8 Enrollment Application - Must be received prior to March 1st

You will receive a Cascade K-8 Enrollment Application at the end of a school tour, which can be turned in via email or in person to the Cascade K-8 office manager, Jennifer Seffernick jennifer.seffernick@ssd412.org. 

  • If you are offered and accept a spot with Cascade K-8, a resident transfer form will be needed to transfer from your Shoreline neighborhood school to Cascade K-8. Please do not submit this form prior to accepting a spot with Cascade.

Step 4: Cascade Lottery - Held on March 6th. 

  • Our school team pulls names and places them in numerical order. Calls will be made to inform families who have been drawn.  If one family declines, the next family will be contacted.

 

Grades 1 - 8 All grades except 8th currently have a waitlist. 

Step 1: Attend a tour in person or via zoom. Find a tour date.

Step 2: Turn in completed Cascade K-8 Enrollment Application

Step 3: Our school team will periodically review applications and reach out to families once there is a space available.
